Introductory Psychology Open Course: Unit 14

Stress & Health Psychology

In this unit we'll consider the relationship between stress, including psychological stressors, and health. Acute and chronic stress can reduce the functioning of the immune system and is related to negative health outcomes and more severe symptoms of some illnesses. We'll see how people differ in their responses to stressors and how we can improve our ability to cope with stress.
